Dominator Bullys: American Bully breeder

Dominator Bullys: American Bully breeder

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

Hello, my name is Kenny Lee, founder of Dominator Bullys. We are located in the Chicagoland area.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

We breed American Bullys. I had Pit Bulls for years and decided to move to Bullys about 7 years ago.

What is your favorite bloodline?

I really like Rocko and Magoo bloodlines.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

In my opinion, the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder is simply to be responsible! Take care of your dogs, all of them.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

My dogs are all on grain free kibble and a raw diet. It’s worked best for me since I started in this breed. If it ain’t broke, don’t change it.

Are there any specific brands of dog food that you recommend?

I would recommend grain free! Many people say no, but a lot of these Bullys have allergies and grain free works for us. Raw food is also something else I would recommend. Bone, heart, liver and kidneys all mixed up.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

Some get fed twice a day and some get fed once a day. I like my dogs to be chunky, not fat.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

I keep my dogs in shape throughout the year by using spring poles, flirt poles and they play in the yard. We also go for walks but not super long walks.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from your kennel from start to finish.

  • Well, first you would start by just contacting us.
  • I ask everyone to be honest and let us know your budget upfront.
  • I do try to work with everyone. It’s truly a blessing to have people wanting pups from us.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

I have showed two. ABKC grch Boss a Taz son, he’s also a BRC Champ and a UKC champ. Butkus a Rocko son, he’s a grch in BRC and ABKC. My boy Mr Wish, in his first show he took his age group twice and grabbed a best male at the 2021 BRC Nationals. Koloss, grabbed a 2nd place last week in extreme class at BRC Nationals in Illinois.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?

Don’t settle! Buy exactly what you want no matter the cost. I sold a practically new Harley to grab a female I wanted and couldn’t afford. Yes, a brand new Ultra Harley!

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

I think the most difficult thing for people to overcome is pride and jealousy. There’s an over abundance of it in this community.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

Unfortunately, I’m no genie but I doubt they will ever overcome it.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

I can’t say I really look up to anyone, but I will say this. My bud Sam Leam is a great breeder, businessman, and friend.

Tell us about one of your main goals for 2022.

Well 2022 is just about over and it was a tough year here. We had a pup break a leg, had a few emergency surgeries and a singleton litter. But we’re going out with a bang and 2023 is looking great for us.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.

I just concentrate on my goals and my kennel. We are on a good track. Dominator Bullys program is going as planned and I’m learning everyday.

What separates your kennel from the competition?

Some kennels are about the money, and some aren’t. We’re about breeding healthy, bodybuilding looking Bullys. The huge heads, thick necks, crazy rears, built shoulders, great movement and as close to perfect as we can get!

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

I like to ride Harleys, play guitar, and shoot guns. Lots of them :)

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?

I’ve checked y’all out a few times. You keep the community going and I think that’s great! Definitely gotta get the app and dig deeper into Bully Girl Magazine!

Breeders from the Midwest all have 1 thing in common. They want the best or to be the best. BGM is a great platform, I always look forward to a good read from you.
