Big Bag Bullies: French Bulldog and Micro Bully Breeder in Georgia

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

My name is Tika Bee. I own Big Bag Bullies aka B3 and I am located in Atlanta, Georgia.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

I breed French Bulldogs and Micro Bullies. My daughter inspired me to buy the Frenchies based on a Cartoon TV show that she used to watch, and my brother inspired me to make it a business because he saw the passion that I had for dogs.

What is your favorite bloodline?

My favorite bloodline would have to be Grinch for Frenchies and Bape for Bullies. I have Bape in almost all my bulls, and I’m looking to incorporate some Grinch blood in my frenchies.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

First and foremost, cleanliness is next to godliness. Dogs can’t clean up after themselves, wash their bowls or clean their kennels etc. we have to do that for them. If we don’t do it or do it right, those germs can lead to other bacterial things that can harm our pets and make them sick. Being clean for me is a priority because I whelp litters as well.

Next, I would say responsible breeders are always learning. Someone can never take your education away, it is important to keep learning so we can better the breed no matter what the breed is. Lastly, I would say another good characteristic of a responsible dog breeder is to have a passion for dogs in general. You definitely have to love dogs for real in order to breed them.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

I feed my dogs kibble mixed with various supplements and vitamins. Not every dog gets the same supplements and vitamins because not every dog is the same. My mommas and my studs also have their own concoction of food as well. A few times a week I will add some overnight oats and a fruit into their bowls in the mornings, and some nights I’ll add pumpkin and a vegetable to their kibble.

Are there any specific brands of dog food that you recommend?

To each their own, everyone's budget and finances are different. I just don’t personally recommend any food that you can get out of the supermarket, but more so a feed store.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

In the cooler weather I usually feed them twice a day, and in the hotter months I feed them once a day around the same amount of food.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

In the warmer months they go out in the yard, do what they have to do and then I let them back in. In the cooler months we’re outside for a good portion of the day. I rotate who goes out in the yard and who goes on a walk. In the morning I may walk dogs X,Y,Z and then in the evening I’ll walk A,B,C and throughout the day they get yard play as well.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from your kennel from start to finish.

• If you want to purchase a dog from me I typically ask what the person's budget is so that I can send them what I have in their range. All puppies don’t hold the same value. I am not one of those breeders who has all of their dogs priced at 5 figures or more.
• Once I get a price that the buyer is willing to spend, I’ll send pics of what I have available with the ticket for each one.
• If a choice has been made then I ask for a deposit to be sent to hold the dog (if the dog is not ready or if I have to travel to bring the dog).
• If the dog is ready we can then set up arrangements for pickup.
• I like to meet at banks because of the cameras and security they already have in place. I feel it is safest and prevents people from wanting to steal or use fraudulent cash.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

Yes I do, I have a few that I take to shows.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?

Make sure you do your homework first. Once you do your research, find a mentor that you can ask 1,001 questions to without them caring. A lot of good and/or top breeders don’t like to mentor so it is important to find someone that does, free game goes a long way. Let’s all better the breeds that we breed.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

I think the most difficult thing is people going with all of the hype and being a follower.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

This can be overcome simply by learning. A lot of new breeders think that going with the hype dog/ hottest stud etc. will get you somewhere. In reality it’s the blood that matters, and knowing that not every blood meshes well with the other.

People will often wonder why their litter didn’t turn out the same as someone else's litter. If the breeder would’ve learned what clicks well with the blood in their yard then they wouldn’t be looking to compare, the litter would already stand out. Breeding is a science, not popularity. Learn your dog(s) blood then choose a mate.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

Erwin Berryman! BIG E! I didn’t have a mentor when I first started, I got it out the mud. I also majored in biology in college so a lot of things just made sense to me. Since I met Erwin when I moved to Atlanta from Florida, he has always been super supportive and given me so much knowledge even outside of the dog game. He believes in the smaller camps and has been nothing but positive to me and others.

Tell us about one of your main goals for 2022.

One of my main goals for 22’ was to produce a bomb in house litter off my stud BIG POPPA PUMP and I did just that! I can’t wait to see what he gives me in 2023, I have some special girls lined up for him next year.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.

I would like it to be how it is now. I feel our community is like no other. We are a culture! If I had to change one thing it probably would be to put less shine on dogs that can’t function. Yes our dogs are designer, but they should be able to function as well.

What separates your kennel from the competition?

My willingness to learn and my ability to take what I’ve learned and apply it. And having some bomb productions to back it up. Big Bag Bullies, home of the my dogs look like me, lol.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

I’m also a licensed Esthetician and Nail tech which is what helped me start my kennel. I like my businesses to open other businesses.

I love Bully Girl Magazine! I think that the bully community needs this. It’s tons of women out here that’s killing the game. Some of the top pioneers in the industry are women. Shoutout to Jamie Sweet !
