2Face Kennels: Exotic Pocket Breeder in Benito, Texas

2Face Kennels: Exotic Pocket Breeder in Benito, Texas

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

My name is Jazlin Estrada. My kennel is 2Face Kennels and we are based out of San Benito,Texas.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

I own Exotic Pockets. What made me get into this breed was that I really loved their size. They’re not huge, but they’re not small either.

What is your favorite bloodline?

My two favorite bloodlines are Bape and DevilSpit.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

Maintenance is KEY. Someone who not only wants to breed, but is willing to show love and affection to each and every single one of their dogs.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

I add organic coconut oil with their dry food, and give them small amounts of bananas as well. Bananas offer the benefit of various vitamins and minerals like fiber, potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C as well as prebiotics.

Are there any specific brands of dog food that you recommend?

I have always fed my dogs Pedigree since they started in mush. That has just always worked for them.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

I feed them no more than 3 times a day.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

They usually go out about 4 times a day for about 15-30 minutes depending on the weather.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from 2Face Kennels from start to finish.

At the moment I have not bred any of my dogs due to them being young, and it’s not in my plans at the moment. I hope in the future that changes.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

At the moment I do show one of my dogs, my female “Jealousy”. She has just started her showing career in the beginning of February 2022.

What advice does 2Face Kennels have for any upcoming breeders?

Always be true to yourself, you can only fake so much until people start to notice. You won’t fit in with everyone and that’s okay.  Don’t go for just looks, take the time to actually study the bloodlines. Always go with your gut feeling. Your gut feeling is never wrong.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

The most difficult thing to overcome in the bully community is probably losing your dog.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

I personally think you can overcome losing your dog with time, but you can never forget about it. Time will heal the loss, but not the memories.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

The one person I look up to has to be Frank, owner of 3rd Coast Kennels who is also based out of San Benito. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t own two beautiful siblings. I wouldn’t have known what this whole community is about. He has also shown me so much from whelping to tube feeding. We have taken a few losses, but the wins overcome those losses. I will always look up to him. He is an amazing breeder and dog owner.

Tell us about one of 2Face Kennels main goals for 2022.

My three main goals to end the year off are first, getting my kennel out more into the public and getting the lower RGV known a lil more. There are some very nice exotic dogs down here but we’re so small not a lot of people know about us. My second goal is to get my dogs more involved in showing out at dog shows, and lastly for them to stay healthy and themselves.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.

I would like for it to be more open minded on both genders. I feel like right now females are barely getting the respect men get in the community. I would like for it to be more of a different environment, a more family friendly environment.

What separates 2Face Kennels from the competition?

What separates my kennel from the competition is my focus and ambition. It’s not money or breeding at the moment. My focus is on Aztec, and Jealousy, and their well being. More than show dogs they are my family. I always try to teach them as much as I can on showing them structure and behavior for when we do go out. I also let them enjoy their freedom, their home, and our love. They are my babies before they are show dogs.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

I usually try to attend dog shows or any meet and greets. Just so I can take notes and advice on how to better my dogs in meals, structure, and behavior.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?

Bully Girl Magazine is a great opportunity for all females to get their kennel out into the public and give different kinds of motivation to each other, and the young coming audience.
