FL Bully Kennels 239: American Bully Breeder in Florida

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

My name is Connor Brown, and my kennel is called FL Bully Kennels 239 located in Southwest Florida.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

At FL Bully Kennels 239, we breed American bullies. I always liked the Pit Bull but it didn't have enough bones for me. Once I saw the American bully, it was perfect; I fell in love with the breed.

What is your favorite bloodline?

My favorite bloodline is Rocko Mania. He has produced some of the best dogs in the Bully game. I would say he is the Dax of this generation.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

A responsible dog breeder keeps all of the dogs clean and well groomed. They provide quality food, clean water, proper shelter, exercise, socialization, and professional veterinarian care.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

My dogs eat Victor throughout the year. Thank God we don’t have any picky eaters!

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

Our dogs have food in their bowls all day.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

We make sure to let  the dogs run around the yard a few times a day.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from FL Bully Kennels 239 from start to finish.

First, we want to make all of our customers feel comfortable by offering a FaceTime call to show the customer the puppy of their liking.  If they are in the area, we offer to meet up. From there the process is as follows:

  • We require a $500 deposit to secure your puppy (normally taken when puppy is 4 weeks old).
  • The owner is updated with photos until the 8-week mark.
  • There is a delivery service for a small fee or the customer is welcome to pick up their puppy.
  • All puppies come with an ABKC registration, health certificate, an up-to-date document showing shots and deworming, and a FL Bully Kennel 239 goodie bag.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

Currently, FL Bully Kennel 239 does not show any dogs. However, my partner has a Rocko bloodline bully who is about to hit the show circuit soon.

What advice does FL Bully Kennels 239 have for any upcoming breeders?

My advice to upcoming breeders would be to stay humble and patient. It's going to take time, a lot of hard work, and dedication.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

Two of the most difficult things for people to overcome in the bully game are when certain kinds of breeding don’t end well, and when upcoming breeders suppress their true vision for their kennel.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

Just keep your head up, follow through with your vision, and prove the haters wrong. Not everyone will like your dogs, but there is always at least one person out there that will love and support your dog.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

I look up to people like Khan and Tone. They are some of the most successful people in the Bully game. They have amazing studs and yards.

Tell us about one of FL Bully Kennels 239 main goals for 2022.

My main goal for FL Bully Kennel 239 is to produce one of the greatest Merle studs.

Describe how you would want things in the bully breed community to be 10 years from now.

I want the Bully Breed to stay pure. Hopefully breeders won’t wash the breed with mostly bulldog features.

What separates FL Bully Kennels 239 from the competition?

At FL Bully Kennel 239, we stay in our lane and focus on our vision. I'm focusing on making a boned-up Merle with bully-like features.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

Outside of breeding, we enjoy watching football. We love going to see amazing Bulls on our days off, which as a breeder is few and far between.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?

Bully Girl Magazine is amazing!
