State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
We are Robin and Franzi. Our kennel name is Granit Bullyz, and we are located in Wolfenbüttel, Germany.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed American Bully’s and French Bulldogs. American Bully’s are simply the most beautiful dogs that exist for us. Their power, appearance and great character just make them such a wonderful breed. We breed French Bulldogs because I grew up with the breed from childhood, and they simply belong to us too.
What is your favorite bloodline?
Our favorite bloodline is Muscletone‘s.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
A responsible breeder can be recognized by the fact that they are familiar with the breed, and their love for animals.
What type of diet does Granit Bullyz keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed our American Bully’s mainly with meat because it simply contains the best nutritional values for growth. We don't have a diet in the sense that we just look at the size and weight, then exercise and feed the dogs daily accordingly.
How many times a day do you feed your dogs?
We feed once in the morning, and once in the evening.
How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?
We have a house with a huge garden where the gang can fully exhaust themselves, with obstacles and a nice parkour. In addition we meet regularly with friends who also have dogs, to maintain the social bond. In the summer we walk a lot with the gang, and also swim.
Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Granit Bullyz from start to finish.
We put a litter announcement on the net two weeks before the litter day so that people can register for a puppy early on. We also like to get to know the people where our puppies will move in. After the birth of the little ones, people can decide which they want based on pictures or videos. This will only be once the mother has recovered sufficiently. After about 4 weeks we allow visitation. In between they get pictures and videos regularly.
After 8 weeks and a vet visit, the little ones move into their new home with a starter package and several other things. At 4-5 weeks we use dry feed soaked with raw cattle. After 6-7 weeks dry feed when the little ones go abroad. The little ones are of course well socialized and cared for, with all necessary vaccinations.
What advice does Granit Bullyz have for any upcoming breeders?
We would advise future breeders to read everything correctly, and inform yourself well enough if you want to breed. A lot can go wrong with the birth or rearing of the puppies.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
The upbringing of dogs. Unfortunately, many people are not aware of the effects miseducation can have on a dog.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Read a lot, get information from dog professionals and deal with the breed.
Tell us about one of Granit Bullyz main goals for 2021.
Our goal for 2021 is to continue as we do in 2020. We pay close attention to the health of our dogs and the rearing of puppies.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I just hope that the breed is not viewed as malicious ten years from now.
What separates your kennel from the competition?
We differ from other breeders because of our size. We only have 1-2 litters a year, and our dedication to rearing them is unmatched.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
I've been doing pure power sports for 10 years, which is my balance to everyday life.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
Bully Girl Magazine is a beautiful publication that shows the diversity of the breed again. It's always nice to see when you post new articles on your website too.
