Special God Made Kennel: American Bully and French Bulldog Breeder in Alabama

Lorenzo Foster is the CEO of Special God Made Kennel, a breeding facility located in the heart of Alabama. He breeds American Bullies and French Bulldogs, and his love for their muscular builds and temperaments is what initially inspired him to become a breeder. With a natural talent for working with dogs, Lorenzo decided to turn his passion into a business.

At Special God Made Kennel, health is considered to be wealth. Over the past three years, Lorenzo has made sure to have his American Bullies tested with Embark and will soon begin X-Ray testing for hips, elbows, and other important health markers. Similarly, the Frenchies were tested last year and he plans to perform four-panel health testing on them in the future.

To ensure that each puppy is well-socialized before joining its new family, Lorenzo allows them to interact with his niece and other dogs on the yard, along with providing them with play toys and basic discipline training.

Lorenzo is particularly fond of the Gottyline Dax bloodline of American Bullies and the Dr. Seuss of OCK Bully Ranch bloodline of Frenchies. He believes that being a responsible dog breeder requires having a genuine love for dogs, prioritizing health and structure over color, and being willing to make any sacrifices necessary for the well-being of the dogs.

The dogs at Special God Made Kennel are fed a balanced diet that includes a combination of meats such as beef, chicken, pork, and fish for the American Bullies, and a chicken and rice diet with added carrots, turmeric, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, and sometimes coconut oil for the Frenchies. Lorenzo recommends specific brands of dog food for each breed, and adjusts their portions according to their age, with pups eating up to three times a day and older dogs only once.

To keep the dogs in top shape, Lorenzo allows them to run and play with each other after their daily bathroom breaks. On cooler days, he takes the older dogs for a mile-long walk or performs rope training with them.

Interested individuals can purchase a puppy from Special God Made Kennel by reaching out to Lorenzo through his business or personal page. There is no deposit required, and the puppies are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. Lorenzo is willing to travel to meet with the puppy, and before delivering it, the puppy will be up to date on shots, groomed, and come with registration and vet records.

Lorenzo considers each puppy sale to be the beginning of a lifetime friendship and is always available to offer advice and recommendations. In the unlikely event of a puppy passing away shortly after its purchase, Lorenzo recommends a autopsy to determine the cause of death and, if it was due to his breeding, he will make it right with the customer. So far, this has never happened and he is committed to continuously improving the health of the breed.

Finally, Lorenzo and his team are active at shows and are looking to enter their American Bullies and Frenchies in shows this year. They are always networking with other breeders and potential buyers, constantly striving to improve their breeding practices.

Special God Made Kennel is run by an experienced breeder who takes their role in the industry very seriously. They believe in sticking to the standards as much as possible and being ready to invest in their passion, even if it means financial sacrifices in the beginning. They believe that quality should always come before quantity and that honesty and a willingness to accept criticism are key to success.

Lorenzo’s goal this year is to improve their team and quality, and expand their brand. In 10 years, they hope to see the Bully breed filled with healthy, well-bred dogs, and to have outlived the trend-followers who are in the game solely for money. They believe that continuous learning and self-improvement will set them apart from the competition.

When not working with dogs, the breeder enjoys fishing, making videos, reading, and working. They first heard of Bully Girl Magazine through an interview with Melissa Bostick, and were impressed with the publication's mission to give a platform to lesser-known breeders. Special God Made Kennel supports Bully Girl's mission and believes that more platforms like it are needed in the industry.
