Jones Royal Bullys: American Bully Breeder in Kentucky
State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
Hello! I am J Jones of Jones Royal Bullys. Our kennel is located in Louisville, Kentucky, home of Muhammad Ali.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
We breed American Bullies at my kennel. This breed caught my attention from the start with its solid bones and structure.
What is your favorite bloodline?
We love all bloodlines, but right now, I’m focusing on LV Rocko Blood and Magoo.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
A responsible dog breeder will clean the dogs after making messes, feed them with nutrients, and give them good exercise daily.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed the dogs a balanced diet of half kibble and half raw meat in every meal.
How many times a day do you feed your dogs?
We feed the dogs two times a day.
How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?
I have a nice-sized house where I can run them in the yard or take walks around the neighborhood.
Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Jones Royal Bullys from start to finish.
- First, I like my clients to have an idea of what they want or need for themselves or their program.
- Second, once we find an ideal pick for you, we will send over paperwork for you to fill out. This is a precaution to protect you as the new owner and us as the seller.
- Next, we require a small deposit to hold your pup.
- Lastly, we will ship your new dog to you once they are at least ten weeks old and you’ve paid the remaining balance.
Do you currently show any of your dogs?
Yes, we love the dog show life! We have one Ch in a yard with many more to come.
What advice does Jones Royal Bullys have for any upcoming breeders?
My advice is to stay focused and never listen to everything you hear. You have to know what you want to see as a breeder, not what everyone wants.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
It is challenging to afford the dogs you want, and a lack of knowledge will hold you back. It’s part of the reason why the dogs cost what they do now.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
Once again, stay focused on what you want and the older breeders showing the ropes on why things are the way they are. You can also gain credibility by teaching and sharing your information on the breed and hosting these dogs.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I love what many people are doing, but I still have a set vision for my kennel.
Tell us about one of Jones Royal Bullys main goals for 2022.
I would love to buy a new facility to house 15-20 dogs comfortably.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I would like everything to be normal with no one fighting over types and classes. I don’t want to see the breed as one set look that we all focus on and copy.
What separates Jones Royal Bullys from the competition?
My competition is me vs. myself. I hold myself and my kennel to a higher standard than any competitor would.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
I have a new YouTube channel I’ve launched called JonesRoyalBullys, where I provide information and the inside scoop on the bully community, in addition to helpful tips.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I love Bully Girl Magazine and will always support it.
