Hollywood North Bullies: American Bully Breeder in Canada

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

My name is Gursharn Saprai .We are the Hollywood North Bullies. You can find us in Vancouver, British Columbia Canada.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

We exclusively breed American Bullies! The moment I laid my eyes on my first American Bully, I was inspired to get further involved. The way they look, their size, structure and demeanour are all so mesmerizing.

What is your favorite bloodline?

My favorite bloodline is Gottiline.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

In order to be a responsible dog breeder, the most important factor to take into consideration is to behave ethically and virtuously. The safety and health of the dog must be the first priority. Intelligence, experience, reliability and patience are important characteristics dog breeders should have.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

My dogs eat better than I do. They are fed veggies, fruits, steaks, turkey, pork, beef heart liver, kangaroo raw meat, tails and pork neck. They also exclusively drink goat milk.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

At Hollywood North Bullies, we feed our dogs three to four times a day.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

We keep our dogs in shape through morning and evening exercise daily. They also are free to play in the yard. The American Bully breed does not need excessive amounts of exercise.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Hollywood North Bullies from start to finish.

In order to purchase a pup from us look out for our announcements. Announcements will take place 6 months before the breeding takes place, to give your customer time to prepare themselves financially and mentally.

When the puppies are born, we wait until they are eight weeks of age to see which pups we want to keep in-house. After the eight weeks, the remaining pups will be made available. We go through applications to see which buyers are the best fit for our puppies.

Deposits or full payments will be collected once a puppy is selected. The method of shipping and receiving of the puppy depends on preference of the buyer. We will assist in the entire process. It is a very simple process.

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

Unfortunately, we do not currently show any of our dogs, but we are working towards an upcoming project.

What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?

The best advice I would give to upcoming breeders, is put as much time as you can into this. Do all the research before starting your program. Don’t jump into anything without knowledge and a plan. I would recommend studying pedigrees. Also, try to see the dogs in person, before investing any serious money. Be ready to give up a lot of your time for your dogs.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

In the bully community, I feel as if we breeders don’t support each other as much as we should.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

We can overcome this by showing support, and giving each other advice and knowledge, instead of bashing each other.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

I look up to Khanh Nguyen in the bully game. Khanh has accomplished a lot. He excels in this game. Khanh has produced the baddest bullies, in my opinion.

Tell us about one of Hollywood North Bullies main goals for the year 2020.

For the year 2020, I am looking to become an even better breeder. I want to take what I learned from my mentors, and apply it to the field. Also, I would like to take our new upcoming prospect Kitana, to at least one show in 2020. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 restrictions and the border being closed, we have been unable to participate this year.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.

Ten years from now I would like the American bully breed to be well known and be recognized, as an American bully, not a Pit Bull. Here in Canada, people are not aware of the breed. I want to change that over the next ten years, to bring more recognition to the American Bully breed.

What separates Hollywood North Bullies from the competition?

Our love and devotion is what separates us from other kennels. We breed to create the best of the best. We aren’t breeding for profit. It’s a passion.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

Other than spending my time arranging meals, cleaning and taking care of the dogs, I like to spend time with family and friends. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as quading.

Bully Girl Magazine is a very informative platform. Bully Girl spreads awareness of the bully breed by shining the light on many upcoming breeders. Thank you Bully Girl Magazine, for being an amazing bully platform for the entire bully community!
