Blue Phoenix Bullies: XL American Bully Breeder in Queens, New York
Share
Meet Michael, the proud owner and operator of Blue Phoenix Bullies, located in the bustling city of Queens, NY. His passion for big dogs with endless character in their eyes led him to specialize in breeding American Bully XLs.
Michael ensures the health of his breeding dogs by having them undergo genetic and OFA heart certification, as well as regular bloodwork every six months and before each breeding. He also places great importance on socializing his puppies, exposing them to different sights, sounds, textures and tastes through play and potty training from a young age.
When it comes to bloodlines, Michael has a fondness for Primeyards Butterscotch for females and Primeyards Markoff for males. He believes that a responsible breeder should prioritize quality, cleanliness, and education.
Michael feeds his breeding pair Victor dog food with additional supplements to provide them with a long and healthy life. He recommends Victor, Merrick, and Hills, as he believes not all dog foods are equal and quality matters. He feeds his dogs 2 to 3 times a day, adjusting based on their exercise and the season.
Michael's dogs, Phoenix and Honey, are kept in shape through constant play, tug of war, protection training, and walks and runs. When it comes to purchasing a pup from Blue Phoenix Bullies, there are three options available - full purchase with full breeding rights, co-own with an agreed upon deal, or pet home with neutering or spaying and no breeding rights. The puppy must be paid in full by eight weeks and will come dewormed, vaccinated, and with ABKC papers, accompanied by a puppy contract.
For those looking to co-own or purchase with full breeding rights, a health guarantee is offered. However, no health guarantee is provided for pet home dogs.
Michael doesn't currently show his dogs but has a strong vision for his kennel. He firmly believes that trust in the bloodline and the breeding process is key for any up-and-coming breeders. The biggest challenge in the bully breeding world is the stigma associated with the breed, but Michael believes that education, exposure, and excellence can overcome this. He looks up to Titanbullys from Florida and has a goal to work with them in the future. Michael's main goal for 2023 is to expand, build, and network his kennel. He hopes to see more unity, genetic diversity, and of course, more bullies in the community 10 years from now.
What sets Michael and Blue Phoenix Bullies apart from the competition is their genuine love for their dogs, who they consider family. They hope to provide the same love and quality to anyone who gets a dog from them. When he's not breeding, Michael loves to hit the open road on his motorcycle, enjoying the wind therapy to clear his mind. He also has a great appreciation for Bully Girl Magazine, which he sees as a way for people to become more educated about the breed and showcase their own bullies. All in all, Michael is a passionate and dedicated breeder who is deeply invested in the bully breed community.
