Blue Dream Bullyz: American Bully Breeder in the United Kingdom

State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.

Our names are Richard and Christina Dozsa, and we own Blue Dream Bullyz located in the United Kingdom.

What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?

We are breeding American bullies. I came across American bullies through Mr. Europe about 12 years ago, and it was love at first sight. Their structure and nature is phenomenal.

What is your favorite bloodline?

My current favorite bloodline is Big Dogs Romania.

In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?

The biggest characteristic of a responsible dog breeder: love what you do. You have to make sure that you do it with your whole heart. Be responsible for your creation, and don’t let the money motivate you. Remember, we are working with and creating life.

What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?

At Blue Dream Bullyz, we provide a variety of meals so our dogs won’t get bored with the same food every time.  We use high quality kibble with a variety of meat: chicken, beef, lamb, and pork. If the meat is cooked, we make sure there are no bones inside. For raw meat, we feed them twice a week with the bones inside, but we don’t feed them raw pork as that can cause worms. Our dogs also eat fish, natural yogurt, veggies, coconut oil, eggs, 100% natural peanut butter, and extra vitamin supplements.

How many times a day do you feed your dogs?

Our adult dogs have two main meals with a midday snack like an omelette or sardines. The puppies that are a year old and younger have 3 main meals a day plus the kibble.

How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?

We walk our dogs for 20-30 minutes, one to two times a day.

Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from Blue Dream Bullyz from start to finish.

At Blue Dream Bullyz, we have a 4-stage system:

  1. Telephone conversation
  2. Questionnaire with background checks
  3. Personal meeting
  4. Puppy contract

If a potential client passes all of the stages, we welcome our client in the Blue Dream Bullyz family. We offer lifetime support and friendship with our puppies, and we monitor how they develop

Do you currently show any of your dogs?

Blue Dream Bullyz does not show any dogs.

What advice does Blue Dream Bullyz have for any upcoming breeders?

As I mentioned before, don’t jump into breeding for the money. This is hard work that takes a commitment of 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. When you do it for the right reasons, you will find that it is a lot of fun. Here are some other tips for upcoming breeders:

  • Breed to the standard of the bloodline. Create healthy and functional dogs.
  • Invest into good dogs. Females and males are equally important.
  • Do your homework and research the breed and its bloodlines.
  • Reach out and talk to breeders. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?

The most difficult thing to overcome is realizing the difference between the quality of dogs.

How do you think they can overcome this thing?

A way to overcome this is by learning and researching the breed and its bloodlines.

Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?

There are many fantastic breeders around the world, and I have massive respect for them all because they are putting in the hard work to improve the breed.

Tell us about one of Blue Dream Bullyz main goals for 2022.

Our main goal for 2022 is to improve and create beautiful dogs.

Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed community, to be 10 years from now.

It would be nice if people were more responsible when creating these new dogs.

What separates Blue Dream Bullyz from the competition?

I do not compete with anyone; I just simply do my best to breed quality dogs and make my clients happy with my production.

What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?

As a full-time dad, I am happy to get a full-night’s sleep. But seriously, anything that involves animals, I love it. I’m also a big movie fan.

What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?

Bully Girl is a fantastic magazine because it recognizes and supports the breed and the breeders.
