State your name, your kennel, and where your kennel is located.
My name is Anthony Ortiz. I am the proud founder of the Solid Bully Kennels located in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
What type of dogs do you breed, and what inspired you to get involved with that particular breed?
Solid Bully Kennels mostly deals with the Micro Bully. We’re starting to look into Frenchies and Pockets.
What is your favorite bloodline?
While I grew up on Dax and Razor Edge, my favorite bloodline right now would have to be Bape and PaintBall.
In your opinion, what are the characteristics of a responsible dog breeder?
The responsible dog breeder makes sure that his dogs are happy and fed. He doesn’t just use his money on himself but invests his money back into his brand and his camp.
What type of diet do you keep your dogs on throughout the year?
We feed our dogs Diamond, Purina Pro Plan, and raw meat with one egg, peanut butter, and mayo. My dogs love it.
How many times a day do you feed your dogs?
I always try to get the dogs to have 2 meals a day.
How do you keep your dogs in shape throughout the year?
The dogs are kept in shape by running around, playing with each other, or going on walks.
Walk us through the process of purchasing a pup from your kennel from start to finish.
When you purchase a pup from Solid Bully Kennels, we like to make you feel like you're at home. We offer shipping or you can pick up your pup in person.
Do you currently show any of your dogs?
At the moment, Solid Bully doesn’t show any of our dogs.
What advice do you have for any upcoming breeders?
Some advice I would love to give the young community of breeders: try to do everything yourself; first-hand experience is key. If you let your friends or other people do it, when they are not available, you will never know how to do it. Also, everyone is trying to win, so when you’re breeding, be sure to have that in mind.
What do you think is the most difficult thing for people in the bully game to overcome?
The hardest thing I had to overcome in the bully game was waiting for a litter to come. While I was waiting, some of the pups passed away. That just goes to show nothing is promised.
How do you think they can overcome this thing?
The only way to overcome this is to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
Who do you look up to in the bully game, and why?
I look up to my father who made me fall in love with the breeding game.Tell us about one of your main goals for 2022.
My main goal for 2022 is to purchase my first property, and have a yard full of badass dogs.
Describe how you would want things, in the bully breed Community, to be 10 years from now.
I would love for the community to start donating dogs to service people who have disabilities.
What separates your kennel from the competition?
What separates Solid Bully from other kennels is that we are a family-owned business. We all have the same love and goals for the dogs.
What other hobbies or interests do you take part in?
Honestly, I really don’t do anything but work.
What do you think of Bully Girl Magazine?
I love Bully Girl Magazine! I used to read all sorts of Bully Breed magazines when I was little.
